We do not offer reduced per-unit prices, but instead ship 'bonus' quantities if you are buying 10 or more identical items. This is for all products, except for the ELM327 v1.3a - we do not give bonuses for the ELM327 v1.3a, and the price is always $19.00 each, no matter how many you buy.For security reasons, the InternetSecure system that processes our web orders does not allow us to change pricing with quantities ordered. With fixed prices, our only way to effectively offer you a discount for quantitity purchases is to ship 'bonus' quantities with the items purchased.
Bonus quantities are calculated as follows:
0 to 9 identical devices - no bonusFor example, a purchase of 50 identical ICs will actually be shipped as 60 pieces (50 + 20% bonus), while an order for 100 of one type would be be shipped as 130 pieces (100 + 30% bonus). Note that these are equivalent to traditional 17% and 23% discounts. The minimum order to get any discount (at one time, not spread out over multiple orders) is 10 identical units.
10 to 99 identical devices - 20% bonus
100 to 999 identical devices - 30% bonus
1000+ identical devices - 40% bonus
These bonus quantities will not appear on your InternetSecure receipt - we will add them here at Elm Electronics when preparing your order.
If you have made a large purchase that results in bonus quantities, your Invoice will show a per unit price that is calculated from the total amount paid, divided by the number of ICs that are being shipped. This is necessary as most Customs offices do not recognize bonus quantities, and will try to charge too much Duty otherwise.
There is no minimum order. If you wish to buy only one IC, that is fine.
InternetSecure will only accept one address when collecting your credit card information, so it must be your credit card billing address. We can ship to another address for you if you send us an email requesting the change. Please note that we will not ship to a third party, and we will not ship to a different country.
All orders are shipped by Air Mail from Canada, and often take only one or two weeks to get to the destination (depending on local holidays, and any delays at your Customs office). There is no tracking number associated with this type of shipping.
Note that we do not offer any express or courier shipping options.
A charge of $8.00 is automatically added to every order to cover the costs of shipping and handling. It does not matter where you live in the world, or the total cost of your order - the amount is always the same.
Payment must be through our web site, using a credit card. We only accept:

We do not accept cheques, money orders, money transfers, or PayPal payments.
Upon successful completion of your transaction, two identical emails will be generated by InternetSecure showing your purchase - one that is sent to you so that you have a record of your order, and one that is sent to us, so we know what to send you. You will also be shown a receipt screen that summarizes your purchase (which you may also wish to print). When we package your order, we will insert our own Invoice inside, showing your purchase details.
Several people have asked about the payment of Customs duties and clearance fees when their package arrives at the destination country. Elm Electronics only pays for the shipping from Canada, and does not pay for any other charges, such as Customs Duties or other fees. These are your responsibility!
All of our prices are shown in Canadian dollars, but they will be converted to your currency by your credit card company. A few Customers have found that some credit card companies charge a large fee for converting the currency, and were not pleased. While most people find the rates are similar to normal currency exchanges, this is not always the case, so If you are unsure of what the exchange fee will be, check with your credit card company before making the purchase.
To give you an idea of approximately what your bill will be, visit The Universal Currency Converter web site.
We have no retailers or distributors. Elm Electronics is a web-based business, and we require that all purchases be made through our web site. This helps to keep costs down, so prices can be the lowest possible.
Returns are not accepted. We can never know what stresses an IC has been subjected to, so can never resell one if it were to be returned. Please select the type of integrated circuit (PDIP or SOIC) and the number of devices (including bonus quantities) very carefully.
